Robert N. Houghton, age 75, of Edwards, MO., passed away suddenly Wednesday evening, January 16, 2013 in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was born on December 1, 1937, the only child of Euid Noland and Virginia Pearl Williams Houghton.

He grew up in Paris, Missouri and graduated from high school.

He enlisted into the United States Air Force and was stationed in North Carolina. He was honorably discharged and returned to the Kansas City area.

He completed cosmetology school and worked in Brookside. He then went to firefighter academy and joined the Kansas City Fire Department where he worked from 1963 until his retirement after 25 years of service in 1988.

Following his retirement, he became an avid golfer. He enjoyed working on and showing his John Deere Tractor and he loved dance the two-step.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Kay.

He is survived by one daughter, Lorre Fossum, of Kansas City, Missouri, a son, Robert Houghton, of Overland Park, Kansas, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO. A 2:00 P.M., interment at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Higgensville, Missouri also on Wedesday, January 23, 2013

He is also survived by his siblings, Sally Houghton of Boston, MA, John Houghton of Woburn, MA, and Mary Houghton of Somerville, MA, and his grandchildren, James, Sherry, Erin, Christopher, Matthew, Olivia, Grace, Sara, Patrick, Isabelle, Brian, and Connor. James was a resident of Somerville, MA and London, England. He was a carpenter, a Navy veteran, went to St. John’s Grammar School in Cambridge, and Rindge Tech in Cambridge. There will be a memorial mass at St. John’s Church, North Cambridge, January 22nd at 10:00 A.M. Funeral services will be held in London.

ObituaryDec 13, 2015Robert Michael Houghton "Mick" KINGS MOUNTAIN - Robert "Mick" Michael Houghton, age 57, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday night, December 8, 2015, at Caromont Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Robert was born on September 12, 1958, to Robert and Renate Houghton. He was the oldest of four children. He graduated from Butler High School in Huntsville, AL. Robert retired from the U.S. Army with over 20 years of service. He met his bride in Kornwestheim, Germany and they married there in 1980. Robert worked for FAIST Chem Tech for 16 years. He was an active RC enthusiast and hobbyist and enjoyed the great outdoors. Robert is survived by his wife, Andrea; daughters, Daniela, Jennifer with husband Thomas Corbett, and Michelle; parents, Robert and Renate Houghton; brothers, Rich with wife Lynn, Ron, and Randy with wife Doretta; and his faithful canine companion, Mabel. Committal service with full military honors will be delivered at 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, North Carolina. All those who knew Robert are welcomed by family to attend services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association .
