Obituary Jan 18, 2015 David H. Houghton, 86, passed away January 16, 2015. He was born in Canton, Ohio on November 15, 1928 and joined the Navy right out of high school. Mr. Houghton made a career out of the Navy and retired in 1968. He went to work for Holiday Inns and had a second career of 28 years. Then he had time to play some golf which he loved with his good friends. Mr. Houghton leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Patsy; two daughters, Mary Whitt and Helen Stillwell; three grandchildren, Andrew Vinson, Laura Vinson Johnston and Jennifer Whitt. He was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church and he requested any memorials be sent to Bartlett United Methodist Church, in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 20 at the church with service to follow. Interment will be at Forest Hill East Cemetery on Whitten Road. Forest Hill East Funeral Home 901-382-1000
