Sherman went West to homestead in Colorado and
Nebraska in July, 1887, Sarah joined him in 1888, they lived in a sod
house on the prairie; Sherman abandoned the family in Lincoln in 1910,
Sarah divorced him and married Frank G. Park in 1917, in between the
time she divorced and remarried, she raised the family, taking in
boarders to pay the bills.²
