Description: James Houghton Dies At Luning

Announcement has been received of the death of James HOUGHTON at Luning early Sunday morning, The remains were taken to Reno Sunday night.
Mr. HOUGHTON has been identified with mining and commercial activities in and about the vicinity of Luning sine 1906. With his wife, Olive G. HOUGHTON, he was engaged at the time in running a grocery store and the post office at Luning.
The deceased was well and favorably known throughout Mineral COunty and was the owner of and identified with a number of mining properties and mining interests in Mineral County.
HOUGHTON was born in Ireland, but had lived in this country for many years, engaging in mining activities in Southern Nevada. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Olive HOUGHTON, and a son, Voncent HOUGHTON, both of Luning.

Armed Services; five daughters, Mrs. Lydia Cooney, Mrs. Lois MacAvelgh and Miss Martha Houghton, all of Long Lake. Mrs. Bertha Starling of Gloversville and Mrs. Mary Harvey of Camden; 26 grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Cora Young of Glens Falls.
