ResearchMy name is John Bazelow and I reside in Pine Bush NY in Ulster county. I am emailing you in reference to your genealogical site on the Houghton family. In researching a recent archive of stampless letters we acquired here in NY regarding the children of Benjamin and Ruth Clapp who from the letters appears to have resided at a place called Franklin Dale in Dutchess county NY during the 1840s, I stumbled upon your site, and was wondering if there is an interest on your end in the archive as a whole. The lot consists of 73 stampless letters 70 of which are written by 3 of their sons. George Houghton Clapp, Jesse Forbes Clapp, and Warren Benjamin Clapp.
The letters appear to regard their early days in college, and their lives in general as they focus on work, family, friends, health etc. If there is an interest on your end I would be willing to forward some scans of some of the letters, along with a more detailed listing. Both my Wife and myself have resided in Ulster county our entire lives.
