Jordan Houghton served in the United States Army from 2009-2013 as a Combat Medic (68W10). He was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord with 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry (3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Unit). He deployed to Pashto (Zhari District), Kandahar Province, Afghanistan in December of 2011. In February of2012he was injured during an unmounted patrol, resulting in hospitalization. He later received a Purple Heart and Combat Medical Badge for efforts in combat and resulting injuries.¹
