Evelyn Houghton Dawson, a retired computer programmer, died Wednesday of pneumonia at Meadowcrest Hospital. She was 39. Ms. Dawson was born in Toledo, Ohio, and lived in New Orleans for many years. She graduated from Dennison University. Survivors include a son, Thomas M. Dawson; four daughters, Elizabeth D. Pontiff, Suzanne J. Alley, and Lynn M. and Alice L. Dawson; and four grandchildren. Services were private. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home handled arrangements.²

Deceased Name: Ruth Houghton
HAVANA - Ruth M. Houghton, 74, of Cassville, Wis., the mother of a Havana man, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at her residence after a battle with cancer.

Born April 8, 1929, in Lancaster, Wis., to Harry and Clara Bryhan Bossert, she married Melvin Houghton on July 19, 1947, in Burton, Wis. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Ruth (and Stephen) Kundert of Madison, Wis., Deborah (and David) Byrge of West Allis, Wis., and Mary (and Randy) Hatlen, Lomira, Wis; one son, Daniel (and Leah) Houghton of Havana; one brother, Louis Bossert of Cassville; her stepmother, Helen Bossert of Lancaster, Wis; one half-brother, Bruce Bossert of Nashville, Tenn; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Cassville. The Rev. Ruth Shriver will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Martin Page Funeral Home in Cassville. Further visitation will be one hour before services Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Cassville Cemetery in Cassville.¹
