Church Packed for Funeral of Murdered Man -- Rev. Schoeningh Celebrates Last Rites for R. E. Houghton.
One of tbe largest funerals ever held from St. Joseph’s church was that of Raymond E. Houghton, murder victim of John Polos, which took place this morning. The edifice was crowded with friends and acquaintances of the murdered man and there was a profusion of beautiful floral offerings. Rev. Anthony Schoeningh celebrated a requiem high mass, pronounced the burial absolution, preached the funeral sermon and also officiated at the grave in Holy Family cemetery.
