Bernard S. Houghton, 94, of Bradenton, died Feb. 17 in Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in S|t Andrews United Church of Christ, 6908 Beneva Road, Sarasota, with the Rev. Paul Binder officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 406 43rd St. W., Bradenton, Fla. 34205, or St. Andrew United Church of Christ, 6908 Beneva Road, Sarasota, Fla. 34238. Bayshore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Whitinsville, Mass., Mr. Houghton came to Bradenton from Cleveland in 1968. He retired after 20 years with West Side Community House, Cleveland. He was a member and choir director of St. Andrew United Church of Christ, Sarasota. He was president of the Men’s Garden Club, Sarasota.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; a daughter, Anita Isherwood of Bradenton; a sister, Eva Holbrook of Cape Cod, Mass; four grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

JOHN J. HOUGHTON

John J. Houghton, formerly of Boston but recently making his home on Concord turnpike, Lincoln, died yesterday.

Born in Boston, the son of the late Peter and the late Rose Houghton, he was for many years with the Boston post office in the motor vehicles division, but had been retired for the past few years.

A veteran of the first World war, he had served with the 2nd Division of the United States Marines overseas. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's church, Lincoln, and held membership and was past vice commander of the William Harris post American Legion, of the Boston post office.

He was married to the former Lillian McKenna, who was formerly of Lowell and who survives him along with a son, John J. Houghton, Jr.3
