Deceased Name: Houghton, Ann S.
Houghton, Ann S. (nee Heiberg) Ann, who passed away on August 21, 2009, was born on February 9, 1912, the youngest of the 12 children of Jorgen F. and Augusta (Slettebak) Heiberg in Norman County, Minnesota. After graduating from high school in Twin Valley, Minnesota, she first attended St. Olaf College and then North Dakota State University, where she joined the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, in which she remained active throughout her life. She worked and lived in Chicago, Illinois, for many years, where she met her husband Dr. Albert W. Houghton, D.D.S. After her husband's death in 1964, she continued to live in the Chicago area before moving to Mankato, Minnesota, and then to Edina, Minnesota, where she was a longtime resident of Edina Park Plaza. However, she always remained a loyal Cubs, White Sox, Bears and Bulls fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 11 brothers and sisters, her husband, her good friend Bill Hanks, and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Edina Park Plaza and to Home Instead (especially Bethany and Krista) for their wonderful care for her. Memorials preferred to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, 3905 Vincennes Road, Suite 105, Indianapolis IN 46268. Memorial Service Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the Christ Presbyterian Church Chapel, 6901 Normandale Road, Edina, Minnesota 55435.

Long Island, NY, USA, HOUGHTON, Shirley A., 88, longtime resident of Smithtown on December 26, 2008. Receptionist at St. Patricks R.C. Church and former longtime receptionist at the Bank of Smithtown. Wife of the late Clayton W. Beloved mother of Cheryl Fay and Sally Houghton. Also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Hawkins & Davis Funeral Home, 17 Manor Rd., Smithtown today, Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Religious service 3pm. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 9:45am at St. Patricks R.C. Church. Interment Smithtown Cemetery.
