Rathbone, Melvin Ray (Age 68)

Beloved husband, father and grandfather found peace and went home with our Lord February 25, 2004. Survived by his wife of 42 wonderful years, Eleanor B. Rathbone: sons Alan, Michael, Curtis, Christopher and Gordon. Also survived by several daughter-in-laws and nine grandchildren. Melvin worked for over thirty years for the United States Postal
Service and was dedicated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association as he was a victim of that disease. A proud man, Melvin never let his disability prevent him from living his life to the fullest; he was known and admired for his determination to succeed at whatever task he chose to be involved with. His dedication to family and especially his beloved grandchildren will continue to be a source of inspiration for an entire generation
Grandchildren include: Nicholas, Jessika, Shelbie, Samuel, Cassandra, Jacob, Jeremy, Joshua, and Jordan Rathbone. “Thanks Dad”.

Viewing services will be held Saturday and Sunday from 9-4 pm at THORNHILL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1400 SOUTH PINES ROAD. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Latter Day Saints, 40th and Bowdish, on Monday, March 1, 2004, at 1pm and will be followed by interment at Pines Cemetery and a reception back at the Mormon Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 101 W. Indiana, Spokane, WA. 99205.
