ObituaryFeb 1, 2011Harry B. Houghton EWING- Harry B. Houghton, 81, of Ewing passed away on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, in the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis in Trenton. Born in Trenton, Harry was a lifelong Ewing resident. He was a maintenance mechanic for Cointreau Ltd. in Pennington and Lawrenceville, where he worked for 35 years. Harry also worked for Mercer County in the Maintenance Department for four years, retiring in 1991. He was a master sergeant for the New Jersey Army National Guard with 32 years of service. Harry was a graduate of Trenton High School. He was a member of Incarnation-St. James Parish, the Trenton Elks Lodge 105, where he was a past exalted ruler, past vice president and past district deputy, and a member of the American Legion Post 313, and the 112th Field Artillery. Harry also enjoyed camping, traveling and skiing. Son of the late Rodney J. and Ellen Smith Houghton, father of the late Pamela Joy and Harry S. "Buddy" Houghton, brother of the late William and Donald Houghton, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Salomea "Sally" (Kopczynski) Houghton of Ewing; two daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Houghton and husband, Robert Veazey, of Pennington, and Joellen M. (Houghton) Futey Lundy of Red Bank, NJ; one daughter-in-law, Carol Fierabend-Houghton of Ewing; four grandchildren, Skyler and Shelby Veazey, Jon-Paul Futey, and Janell Houghton; two step-grandchildren, Christian and Jonathan Fierabend; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Dutko and Etta Houghton; one brother-in-law, Alexander Kopczynski, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. James Church, 29 E. Paul Ave., Trenton. Burial will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 935 Parkway Ave., Ewing. The Trenton Elks Lodge 105 service will be held at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Trenton Elks Lodge 105, 42 DeCou Ave., Trenton, NJ 08628, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
