Barre, VT, USA, Arthur Houghton, 99, formerly of Court Street, Montpelier, died Monday in Central Vermont Hospital, Berlin. He had been a resident of the Mayo Nursing Home in Nor-thfield for the past several years. He was born in Barre May 10, 1882, son of Herbert and Mary (Drown) Houghton. Mr. Houghton was a retired painter and paperhanger and a member of Bethany United Church of Christ. He is survived by cousins. His funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Barber and Lanier Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Montpelier, where friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Barre.
