HOUGHTON, JR. HENRY SEYMOUR, always preferred to be called "Hank". Hank was (still is) a courageous and responsible "Spirit". An expert photographer, he was a loyal and hard worker for Eastern Airlines. Those of us fortunate enough to know him really well, did measure Hank not by his height, but by his heart. Hank leaves behind three sons, Major (Carol), Steve (Carol) and Craig (Barbara). Hank is the adoring grandfather of four grandchildren; Nina, Ashley, Brent and Emily. In edition he is survived by two brothers; Morton and Russell and sister, Harriette. Hank was given, "Angels on earth" in the earlier part of his life here. They were June and Peggy Belle and then Trudie to help June in her worst storm! And in the later part, he was given one more "Angel", Lily. "Today you will be with me in Paradise". Today! Hank! In Paradise! Alive and well with June. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home on Friday between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. A service will be held on Saturday, 11 a.m. at VAN ORSDEL - KENDALL DRIVE 11220 N Kendall Dr (305)279-6644 Family Owned Since 1924 To visit this Guest Book Online, go to www.herald.com/obituaries.5

EmailFeb 23, 2013Dear Charles, My name is Rob Houghton and I am the son of Amory Houghton Jr from Corning New York. I currently live in Acton MA and am a recently retired middle school school teacher & principal. I am also currently the head of my family council (located in Corning NY) and have been researching about our family's past. I have also started my own Ancerstry.com site called "USA Houghton Family Tree", though I am sure some of my information is incorrect and I have just scratched the surface of the information available. Your site and the Houghton Surname Project has most certainly the most information I have come across so far. Do you have a suggestion or how I can join your organization and efforts as well as see what you have discovered so far ( and that is not easily accessible on your web site).
Thanks for your help
