'Robert Floyd Hand, son of Floyd B. and Anna M. Hand, was born at Scranton 26 March 1913 and graduated from Clarks Summit-Clarks Green Joint High School in the Class of 1930. He completed his pre-dental course at University of Scranton and entered Temple University School of Dentistry at Philadelphia, Pa., graduating 15 June 1939 with the degree Doctor of Dental Surgery. AT Temple he was a member of Psi Omega, dental fraternity, the I.N. Broomell Honorary Society, the Norma S. Essig Society of Dental Prosthesis, the F. St. Elmo Rusca Society of Operative Dentistry, and the Ryan Chemical Society. On 1 July 1939, Dr. Hand began a year's dental internship at the Reading Hospital, Reading, Pa. Upon completion of his internship he opened his dental office at East Greenville, Montgomery County, Pa. He practiced dentristy there until he was inducted into the army under the selective service act as a private 17 February 1941. While stationed at Fortress Monroe, Virginia, he was commissioned a first lieutenant in the dental corps in August 1941. As a first lieutenant, he graduated from the Medical Field Service School at Carlisle, Pa., and the Chemical Warfare School, Camp Lee, Va. In September 1942, Lieut. Hand was promoted to the rank of captain, stationed with the medical replacement training center at Camp Pickett, Va. Captain Hand was overseas in England and France, and was attached to the 100th General Hospital. He was honorably discharged after five years of service in the army with the rank of major. After returning home, Dr. Hand reopened his dental office at East Greenville and had a very successful professional career there until his retirement on 14 December 1978. Dr. Hand's professional affilations include membership in the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Bucks-Montgomery County Dental Society. Robert F. Hand and Mary Edna Griffiths, of Taylor, Pa., were married 21 June 1947 at the First Methodist Church of Taylor with the Rev. H. Ross Pickney performing the ceremony.²'

"Robert Dymond is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo E. Dymond of Scranton, Pa. Her was born in Scranton 6 April 1917. He received his bachelor of science degree from Penn State University, and his master of science degree from Bucknell University. During World War II and the Occupation of Germany he served 15 years in the army, honorably discharged 28 May 1954 with the rank of lieutenant-colonel. He taught one year at Keystone Junior College and then in Sept. 1955 he began teaching at Abington Heights High School. He taught physics and chemistr, serving as department head in the science department until his resignation on 15 April 1977."²

Bob graduated on 13 June 1971 from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, with a bachelor of arts degree, magna cum laude, with high distinction in his major subject chemistry and with distinction in his second major subject mathematics. Next, Bob spent two years at the University of California, Berkeley, California where he had a teaching fellowship, obtaining a master's degree in chemistry in 1973.
